How do I minimize inflation?

How do I minimize inflation?

The consumer price index displayed an up tick this past week although I was not surprised since I food shop for the family. A visit to the local vegetable markets for a family favorite called ripe plantains gave a hint. For those who are familiar with ripe plantains and are Seinfeld fans just think about how nuts Kramer was about them. Well to make a long story short for many years ripe plantains, a relative to the banana, were sold three or four for a dollar. Several months ago I noticed that that the plantains were being sold two for a dollar by most merchants. I asked why am I being shorted on my plantains stash and the response given in most cases was that the cost to transport the product had risen. So it was not a surprise to hear that the consumer price index is displaying some inflationary pressures.

Several weeks ago in an earlier blog I wrote that my kid mentioned that the lines in Costco were shorter. Not today (12/15/07). The parking lot was packed and the store was bustling. I’m sure the looming snow storm in New York explains the crowd who are trying to stock up. As I sneak a peak into shopping carts to see what is being purchased this Christmas season it is very apparent food is the gift of choice today.

That is when I struck by the thought that Costco helps to minimize inflationary pressures when members team shop. Yes, buying those super size products and splitting the cost helps to stretch the weakened dollar. It requires some planning but may be us Americans need to plan a little better. So call your fellow members, discuss what products you both use all the time. You will be surprised how much you have in common. Drive one vehicle, split the cost of gas. “Costco size” inflation I say. Be efficient with the dollar, save on food and gas the Costco way, plus you get a free meal with all the delicious finger snacks they distribute. Bottom line is you do not have to shop at Costco to buy Costco if know what I am saying stock pickers.

Costco can teach efficiency to consumers, The Forensic Trader Radar (FTR) can make day traders efficient. The FTR is back tomorrow. First time visitors should click on the following links to get the flavor of the forensic trader radar and my blog’s prophetic powers.

Prophetic Blogger

Seems that the observations made by forensic were prophetic. Noteable comments listed on this blog.

- Are plastics contaminated with lead toxins making people ill? Has production quality changed? Did our testing suddenly get better?

- Credit markets still on a slippery slope. Markets nervous, seems a shoe drops weekly, I am hopeful that Cinderella is not a centipede.

Is the real moral hazard called ethanol?

Lead toxicity seems to be more prevelant than previously thought.

Coming soon the launching of Forensictrader.com web site.

As I contemplate what to write about this blustery winter afternoon it is becoming increasing clear that blogging is not as easy as one thinks, particularly if the blog’s content is original material. Since my blog is directed at the investment community what does it take for an upstart like me to get established when the competition for that niche market is enormous? I could reformulate existing events that I consider politically polarizing and economically impacting to the daily stock market trend like other publishers. Certainly that was not a dig at other publishers because the news has to occur before thought is given and human nature is to draw an opinion after the event. Yeah, that would definitely resolve my writers block but it would not set me apart from the myriad of more recognized sources. So I pause for a moment and meditate, feeling the surge of ideas building, an epiphany.

What does it all have to do with E = G you wonder? Well, since there has been so many reports that Google is preparing to bid for the 700MHz radio waves being auctioned by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), should they succeed, the already dominant Google brand could easily turn E’s into G’s. For example email = gmail. Using my above paragraph I will expand my E = G scenario. I will rewrite the paragraph replacing words where appropriate that begin with the letter “e” with the letter “g.”

As usual, I am attempting to keep my material original and unique at the risk of not being found by search engines because of misspelled words. Such is life because the domain registration for gfficiency, gfile, gtracker, etc., are all gone but are not real words today. Hmmm.

Oh, least I forget, this is a daytrading blog. See the Forensic Trader Radar (FTR) via the below links.
